Texas Rangers (46-55) vs Baltimore Orioles (51-51)

I get why the Rangers are favored, but this price feels like a bit much. The Rangers had a lot of issues putting away the Angels for much of that series over the weekend, and while Jon Gray’s been up there with Martin Perez as the most consistent arms for Texas this season, we’ve still seen the occasional start from Gray that’s reminiscent of his time in Colorado, and that’s not a good thing. Spenser Watkins struggled last time out, but he’s been good for the most part since coming off of the IL and establishing himself in the O’s rotation and bottom line for me here is that this line is showing no respect to the Orioles and what they’ve accomplished over the last month. If this line was closer to a coin flip, maybe I could be talked into considering Texas, but at this price, all of the value is on the Orioles here to snag another win. The O’s have won 7 straight against the AL West including a three game sweep of the Rangers just under a month ago, while the Rangers have lost 26 of their last 35 games against the AL East. Sounds like a prime spot to ride Baltimore here.
