I get why some would shy away from the Mariners after a beatdown loss to the Yankees on Monday, but that’s what I get for backing Marco Gonzales. I think Tuesday presents a much better opportunity as we get arguably Seattle’s staff ace in Logan Gilbert, who has 10 wins on the year and is far better on the road, opposite Jameson Taillon who hasn’t been overly sharp in recent starts. I think Gilbert’s more than capable of keeping the Mariners in this one, who are 9-3 in Gilbert’s 12 road starts this season. I think Tuesday’s going to be a lot closer than Monday, if Seattle doesn’t win this game outright so give me Seattle +1.5 here.
