Texas Rangers (46-56) vs Baltimore Orioles (52-51)

I’ve said before that riding a hot team like Baltimore is a lot like riding the bus. You just have to know when to hop off, but if you miss the jump off point by a spot or two, it’s not the end of the world. I think we’ve hit a jump off spot for at least one day in this one. The Orioles were the far better team on Tuesday, but now, the Rangers get their stopper on the hill in Martin Perez, who is 9-2 on the year who has a 2.83 ERA at home with a .228 opponent batting average. Not to mention, Texas as a team, are 15-5 in Perez’s 20 starts this season. Like I said, the O’s have been rolling, but nothing will stop that momentum faster than handing the ball to Kyle Bradish, who has an ERA up over 7 on the year and a 7.50 ERA in four road starts this year. The O’s aren’t going to win every game and I think this is just a spot where the tide turns in Texas’ favor and the Rangers get one back on Wednesday.
