I fully get the case to be made for a home dog in some spots, but this is not one of those spots. Washington isn’t necessarily the first team I think of when it comes to laying points on the road, but maybe they should be in their current form as they’ve covered in each of their four games on this current road trip and in their last five road games overall. They’re also 6-0 ATS in their last 6. Detroit has battled hard in some spots, but they’re having issues at home, going 0-5 ATS in their last 5 home games and they are 3-10 ATS when lined as an underdog of 5-7 points this season, including 3-7 ATS as a home underdog of 5-7 points. Washington’s gone 4-1 ATS as a road favorite this season, and the reality is that Washington has to take advantage of soft schedule spots like this if this Wizards team is serious about making a run at the postseason. I’ll take Washington laying the points on the road as my premium play for this game.
